Bruins Extend Peverley

Bruins Winger Rich Peverley (left) signed a 3 year extension with the team today

Today the Bruins signed winger Rich Peverley to a 3 year contract extension. Hopefully, Peverley will earn, not receive, $9.75M over the span of the contract, with a cap hit of $3.25M. Peverley had a major role in the Bruins' playoff success last season, potting 4 goals and notching 8 assists on top of that. I wish I could make that kind of money playing hockey, even though I suck. But hey, Blake Wheeler makes $2.55M so I guess there's some hope for me there. Seriously though, Peverley is a beast. The guy came in here and just tore it up in the playoffs. I guess the scouts were right when they called him a poor man's Marc Savard. Except for the fact that he scores more than Savard did. The second line of Marchand - Bergeron - Peverley has been absolute frigging dynamite so far this season and it isn't like Peverley has just been along for the ride, he's played his ass off. This is good for the B's. They have their core in place and they're working on getting the right supporting cast, and extending Peverley may just be the tip of the iceberg.
